Warning! This article applies to the version of the application that is currently only available in beta updates.
We do not recommend installing beta versions if you need a stable application.
The Red Shield VPN application for Windows supports the Split Tunneling feature.
It allows you to choose which applications will or will not work through the VPN.
Please read the limitations and conditions of this feature.
1. The feature only works on 64-bit Windows, starting with 10.
2. The feature will not work if you have another VPN application installed on your PC that supports Split Tunneling.
To use the feature, you must completely uninstall other applications that support this feature.
Some applications, such as Amnezia, do not remove the driver when you uninstall the application.
Here is an example of manually stopping and deleting the driver in the case of Amnezia:
- Run the console as administrator.
- Enter the following commands:
sc stop AmneziaVPNSplitTunnel
sc delete AmneziaVPNSplitTunnel
3. The feature will not work if there are applications installed that interfere with traffic, such as:
- Any antivirus and firewall applications (except Windows Defender).
For the feature and the application as a whole to work correctly, you must completely remove such applications (turning off, adding the application to exceptions - will not solve the problem).
- GoodByeDPI
- Other applications that can interfere with traffic at the system level.
4. Some applications do not support the function. For example:
- Applications installed from the Microsoft Store.
- Java applications.
- Some games.
5. An application launched from another application inherits its settings.
For example, a game launched from Steam will inherit the function settings from Steam.
Or if you open a link from Telegram, the browser will be launched with the same settings as Telegram.
